The "S" Series Three Roll Mills are feature rich and provide performance that meets or exceeds that of much larger production models.

The unique tensioning system of the "S" Series minimizes the free play in the roller ball bearings insuring a more constant gap and ultimately a finer, more uniform particle size in the product. And the gap is easily set with a single hand wheel for parallel roller adjustment to 3-5 microns at its closest setting.

The rollers are available in 80 mm diameter or 120 mm diameter configurations. In addition, the 120 mm model is also available with rollers either 250 mm or 450 mm long.

The roller materials also reflect the care that has gone into the design of the "S" Series. The roller tensioning system and constant gap make it possible to use a variety of materials for the rollers.

• Chrome plated, hardened steel
• P9 - Aluminum Oxide (99.7% Al₂O₃), in two surface finishes
• P8.8 - Zirconium Oxide (ZrO₂)

With the introduction of ceramic-based rollers, metal contamination of the product during processing has been dramatically reduced. With the ensuing introduction of ceramic scraper blades, metal contamination can be eliminated. Scraper blades are available in plastic, surface treated steel, aluminum oxide and zirconium oxide.

Additional Features

• Frequency Inverter for Speed Control The "S" Series Mills are available with either single or dual speed motors. But for optimum performance the variable speed control of the frequency inverter provides better control and the best results. By maintaining a constant speed ratio between the rollers and thus constant friction, the "S" Series models are ideal for processing viscous or thermally sensitive products.
• Heating & Cooling System for the Rollers All EXAKT "S" Series models can be equipped with an internal circulation system for heating or cooling the rollers. This must be installed at the factory during initial construction. EXAKT also provides a heating/cooling device if a chilled or hot water source is not available.
• Solvent Dispensers With increased viscosity of product and increased friction, additional heat can be generated along the plastic guides that direct the flow of product. The product dispensers deliver additional liquid or solvent to the area most likely to become dry, resulting in a smoother flow of product and ease in cleaning.
• Explosion Proofing EXAKT Three Roll Mills can be manufactured to meet explosion proof requirements upon request.
